Quarterly project report: regional trail, tunnel lighting, bike park and other projects move forward

City staff presented a quarterly project report that highlighted progress across parks and mobility projects. "The regional trail connection and bridge design is 100% complete and in permitting review with TCEQ and the city," staff said, noting construction bidding is anticipated this summer with target completion in late 2027. Staff also told the board tunnel interactive lighting and murals are approaching substantial completion and that installation of solar panels and security cameras is pending.
The report listed several park projects funded or advanced by the board, including Bark Park improvements ($100,000) and a Cedar Park Youth League facility assessment ($150,000) that were added through a prior budget amendment. Staff confirmed construction for the Millburn bike park design is underway and that the Recreate project is expected to reach completion in June with a ribbon cutting to follow. The board asked questions about grant matches and partnership agreements for projects with Williamson County and other funders.
