The Town of Brownsburg council adopted ordinance 2026-603 on third reading, approving rezoning for the Auburn Ridge development and incorporating the applicant’s red-line commitments into the final ordinance.
Planning staff summarized that the proposal rezones approximately 64 acres, changing about 43.78 acres to R1 (new 15,000-square-foot lots) and about 20.5 acres to R2 zoning; staff and council said the revised plan includes larger lot sizes than prior proposals. After a motion to incorporate the red-line amendments, council voted to approve the ordinance with the commitments on third and final reading by unanimous voice vote.
Council members noted the application represents a down-zoning in density compared with earlier proposals and cited resolved traffic and safety commitments as factors in their support. The ordinance now stands adopted with the commitments appearing in the official record.
