Forney honors firefighters and moves to consolidate records with 1st Due software

The Forney City Council recognized two firefighters with a letter of commendation and presented a Lifesaving Award to six firefighters whose April 26 actions helped a patient recover after cardiac arrest. Fire Chief Holcomb read an account from a resident praising the crew’s compassion and technical care and listed the crew members honored: Capt. Colt Risher, Driver Jordan Allen, Garrett Aldez, Tristan Williams, Carson Cox and Stanford Hamm.
Chief Holcomb also outlined the department’s planned switch to the 1st Due records management system to consolidate scheduling, training, incident reporting, inspections and other functions into one platform. He said the software’s Community Connect feature will allow residents to provide property and occupant details that can be accessed to improve emergency response. “These capabilities will help our firefighters and officers operate more effectively and safely while serving our community,” Chief Holcomb said. The implementation will begin on 07/01/2026 with a planned go-live date of 10/01/2026 and will be covered by the fire department’s existing budget.
