DeSoto honors students in Every Drop Counts water‑conservation art contest; Journey Wilson featured on city T‑shirt

Community Relations and Grants Manager Adrianna Jarrett presented the 2nd annual Every Drop Counts water‑conservation art contest winners and praised students for their creativity and conservation messages. Jarrett said the winners’ work will appear in the 2027 Every Drop Counts calendar and that Journey Wilson’s design was selected for the official T‑shirt and calendar placement.
Director of Utilities Brandon Lacy thanked participants and noted the contest supports the city’s water‑conservation messaging; he added that residents who take the city’s summer water‑conservation pledge (June–August) can enter to win a calendar featuring students’ artwork. Prizes for participants include a certificate, a Visa gift card provided by the city, and an ARC aquatic day pass donated by Interim Parks Director Dr. Marquise Buford. Several winners were called forward for certificates and photos.
