Mayor Proctor honors residents and bank staff who helped save Reginald Taylor

Mayor Rachel Proctor read and presented mayoral commendations to Pastor Nathaniel L. Green Sr., Asani Lewis, Kia Thomas and Oscar Sanchez for helping DeSoto resident Reginald G. Taylor during a medical emergency on March 31, 2025. The mayor said their actions "demonstrated exceptional compassion, courage and servant leadership" and presented certificates on behalf of the city.
During the presentation Mayor Proctor said, "On behalf of the city council and the city of DeSoto, I'm honored to recognize and commend you for your extraordinary compassion, professionalism, and quick response in assisting Mr. Reginald Taylor during a critical medical emergency." Mr. Taylor spoke from the audience to thank the city and the individuals honored, saying their "swift actions possibly saved my life." The council and attendees took photographs following the recognition.
