Billings County adopts Floodplain Management Ordinance to meet state requirements

Tax & Zoning Director Stacey Swanson presented a draft Floodplain Management Ordinance update required by state legislation for areas not mapped by FEMA. Swanson told the boards the draft had been reviewed by the State Water Commission and FEMA with no comments and that the zoning board recommended approval.
Commissioner Steven Klym moved to adopt the Floodplain Management Ordinance as presented; Jim Haag seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Swanson will publish the adoption notice and submit the ordinance to the State Water Commission for final processing.
