The Vernon County Board approved a farmland lease for the Avalanche Farm in the Town of Webster to Pat and Marcia Parker. County Conservationist David Hettenbach presented the lease; the winning bid was $181.00 per acre for about 20 acres, and the lease term runs from March 1, 2025, through Feb. 28, 2029.
Lease terms specify $181.00 per acre for a total annual rent of $3,710.50, payable in two installments ($1,855.25 by April 1 and $1,855.25 by Dec. 1). The lease requires adherence to NRCS and county conservation standards, nutrient management planning and maintenance of drainage and waterways; the tenant must file a certificate of liability insurance with the Land & Water Conservation Department.
The resolution authorizing the lease (2025-07) was adopted on a voice vote.
