Vernon County updates password policy and backs cybersecurity grant; board approves software license funding

Separately, the Board adopted Resolution 2025-28 to support applying to the State and Local Cyber Security Grant Program for roughly $60,000 (a reimbursement grant) to improve endpoint detection and response and fund a managed security service. The Board also approved Resolution 2025-31, a budget amendment totaling $44,117.50 ($34,500 for Catalis implementation and $9,617.50 for Microsoft licensing), recommending use of contingency and Ho-Chunk funds to cover the cost. IT staff said the grant application deadline is May 30, 2025.
