"The price increase for somebody who currently rents a cart... the price goes up by 86¢ a month," staff said, and added the difference for households that use their own bins would be about $1.75 per month.
Staff told council Republic would assume billing responsibilities and delinquencies; the contract would cap annual price increases at 5%. Council discussed customer-notice procedures and app integration, with staff offering to promote Republic's app via city channels. Several council members praised weekly recycling for convenience and agreed to advance the extension to Monday for formal action and inclusion in the April mailer.
