"Based on the findings and conclusions in our staff report, we recommend approval," Hannon said.
Council members moved and seconded the ordinance and approved both the comp‑plan amendment and the rezoning on voice votes. Staff said the replat had already been approved in November and that the rezoning is consistent with the city’s infill strategy to explore housing options and reduce sprawl.
The zoning change permits duplexes at the site; the applicant must still obtain building permits and comply with development standards. Council scheduled no additional conditions for these companion items at the meeting.
