Development Services reports higher permit activity, GovWell rollout and GLO grant for resilience

"Did have 218 permits that were issued in the 1st 0.25 and a 135 plan reviews that were done during the 1st 0.25," the department reported, and staff emphasized GovWell integration for permitting and an inspection field app that delivers inspection results to contractors.
Staff also said planning won a GLO community-resilience grant to begin outreach for land-use and zoning updates and described work on residential infill and proposed commercial infill processes. The department said impact fees collected year-to-date totaled about $145,000 and that contractor valuation for the quarter was just under $7 million.
Why it matters: the combination of higher permit activity, a digital permitting platform, and a resilience planning grant could speed project reviews and change how the city manages infill and commercial permitting. Councilors heard that event permitting and code-enforcement tools are being improved and that the food-truck permitting will shift to the state later in the summer.
