County adopts annual burn restrictions; large-pile prohibition removed for now

County staff reported the annual burn restriction language would follow last year’s approach with one change: a previous prohibition on large piles was not included in the initial draft. The staff report explained the restriction follows a fire-index process and can be amended during the year if conditions change.
Commissioner 4 moved to adopt Resolution 20-26-11 for restrictions; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Staff noted the county could add a large-pile restriction later in the year if dry conditions warrant it.
The resolution takes effect immediately and remains subject to seasonal change based on the fire index and local conditions.
Next steps: staff will publish the adopted restriction and monitor fire-index conditions for any needed amendments.
