Board members said the project is covered largely by a $150,000 grant and a combination of ARPA funds, with the board noting an $81,000 line for the chip-seal portion in the bid documents. Chair (speaker 1) moved for approval; after a voice second and discussion on logistics and liability insurance, the board approved the motion by voice vote. As the board summarized, there will be no new town taxes to fund the work.
"We have a grant for that," a board member stated during the discussion, and staff confirmed ARPA funds will cover the remaining eligible portions. The motion included standard contractor responsibilities: traffic control, material provision, and a one-year warranty. The board also recorded a completion deadline in the contract documents of Sept. 15, 2025.
Next steps: staff will finalize contract paperwork and notify the apparent low bidder to begin scheduling. The board flagged that town sweeping will be provided and that the contractor will be responsible for traffic control and insurance documentation before starting.
