Jon Bingol, Executive Director of the Mississippi Regional Planning Commission, presented an overview of the proposed Vernon County Comprehensive Plan and explained that it was developed by the Plan Commission with staff and community input. Bingol said the plan is intended as a 20-year guide while remaining a "living document" to be updated as opportunities arise.
Board members were told copies of the proposed plan were distributed and posted on the county website; a public hearing will be held in January and the Board will likely take final action at the January County Board meeting.
