Candace Gutierrez was sworn in as a commissioner at the La Habra Community Services Commission meeting on June 10, reciting the oath to support the U.S. and California Constitutions. "I, Candace Gutierrez, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution..." she said while taking the oath.
Commissioners and staff welcomed Gutierrez and arranged group and family photos after the ceremony. The chair and staff encouraged the new commissioner to participate in subcommittees and noted there would be an orientation and opportunities to "shadow" existing members. Gutierrez said she has lived in La Habra for 30 years and looks forward to learning and working with colleagues.
