During its June 16 meeting the Lynnfield Conservation Commission reviewed several administrative matters: acceptance of a 9.5-acre donation adjacent to Willis Woods (part of the Willis Brook development), recent buoy placement on Pillings Pond and ongoing jet-ski sales activity, and plans for a parklet grand opening and volunteer projects.
Commissioners said a deed for the donated parcel is drafted and ready for signature; the parcel will add to the Willis Woods trail network. Commissioner Kirk Mansfield reported buoys have been placed on Pillings Pond and that jet-ski sales demonstrations continue to visit the pond. Director Emilie Cademartori reported that the new Pillings Pond water-quality treatment measures "appear to be working well this season." Tree Advisory Committee Chair Jane Bandini sought feedback on planting a tree at Cider Mill Park this fall for Arbor Day, and commissioners discussed invasive-tree removal estimates and a draft proposal for trails and potential donated landscaping work. The Commission asked Gianfranco Sacco to provide a draft proposal for review at the July meeting.
