Board authorizes CRA to pursue design/permit funding and dam‑risk grant for Rugg Pond

Commissioner Robert Baldwin moved to authorize Conservation Resource Alliance (CRA) to submit a $200,000 proposal for the Design/Permits Phase for Rugg Pond to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and to submit an application to the EGLE Dam Risk Reduction Grant Program. The board also authorized the Chair to execute an Administrative Services Agreement with CRA (approved as to form by county counsel) and to sign a draft letter to MDNR related to Rugg Pond activities.
All motions were approved by roll call vote (6 yeas, 0 nays, 1 absent). The board’s approvals enable staff and CRA to begin grant preparation and administrative steps pending grant solicitations and counsel review.
