Commissioner Jeff Sieting moved to appoint Jo Ann DeGraaf as Remonumentation Grant Administrator effective Jan. 1, 2025, to serve until she ceases in office, and to authorize application for the 2025 Survey and Remonumentation Grant in the amount of $46,502.00 as offered by the State of Michigan. The motions carried 6–0 with Matley absent.
The board approved a Kalkaska County Remonumentation Peer Review Group composed of three licensed surveyors (Neil Way, Scott Papineau and Marvin Meyers) with alternates Dave Gillette and Edward Heglin; compensation for peer review was limited to $300 per member to be paid from 2025 state grant funds. The board also authorized the annual $2,000 payment to DeGraaf for administration of the grant.
