County approves $2.05 million in bills and several budget amendments

At the Oct. 16 meeting the Kalkaska County Board approved Budget Amendments 2024‑0038 through 0054 and amended two items (#52 and #53) after County Administrator David Schaeffer’s recommendations. The board voted to approve Amended Post Approved Bills of $2,047,481.48, General Fund bills of $149,225.21, Payroll #19 of $208,367.87 and Payroll #20 of $208,075.58. Commissioner Jeff Sieting moved the motions and roll call votes were 6 yeas, 0 nays, 1 absent (Matley).
Administrator Schaeffer also flagged a proposed November budget amendment to transfer funds from the DPW budget into the Recycle budget to fund a Recycle Truck. The board’s approval of the current amendments and bills authorizes staff to proceed under the amended appropriations.
