At the Oct. 9 committee meeting County Administrator David Schaeffer presented valuation estimates and disposition options for several county-owned parcels. The Board authorized a title search not to exceed $9,999 (motion by Robert Baldwin, supported by Truman Bicum) and directed the County Forester to assess timber value on all properties discussed (motion by Baldwin, supported by David Comai). Both actions were passed by consensus with no opposition.
Schaeffer supplied estimated values for specific parcels: a 73‑acre tract adjacent to Perch Lake (approximately $299,000 or more), a 3‑lot/35‑acre Windy Hollow parcel (approximately $129,900 or more), a 5‑acre Windy Hollow parcel (approximately $29,900 or more), a 40‑acre Windy Hollow parcel (approximately $150,000 or more), and an 80‑acre parcel on Adams Road in Kalkaska Township (approximately $249,900 as‑is with a shooting range disclaimer). The Board discussed sale, logging, or combined approaches and noted potential for land conservancy.
