The commission approved a scoria lease authorizing the county to have approximately 25,000 yards of scoria crushed by a surface lessee. "They're willing to let us crush it all out," staff said while describing the parcel location and quantities. Commissioners asked staff to obtain quotes and verify whether a formal bid process was required (staff said the estimated value put it under bid thresholds but that quotes would be sought). Staff will return with quotes and any needed contractual documents for final execution.
The commission placed the lease documents in the signing pile and instructed staff to follow up on title checks and notarization where requested by the lessee.
