Public works reports sewer repair and material change on multiple street projects

Sal and engineering staff reported a sanitary sewer collapse in the area around 2004; crews pulled slip-line through the damaged pipe, sealed two manholes and set a temporary pump to restore flow. "We actually have a pump set, close to the driveway...They will be sealing the 2 manholes, and hopefully, we'll be back on normal flow on Wednesday," the staff member said.
On street projects, staff described an alternate-material issue: a proprietary treatment product applied on portions of Blossom and Willamette did not perform as expected and crews reverted to the contract alternate (cement stabilization) to avoid schedule delays. Sleepy Hollow work will not advance until the contractor demonstrates acceptable results on the initial sections. Staff said bored-work at Bill Pond is in cleanup mode and expected to finish by the end of the week.
Council members asked for ongoing updates and for staff to monitor contractor performance and communications with affected residents.
