YMCA presentation delayed as city and YMCA prepare fuller proposal

City staff informed the Forney City Council on May 19 that the planned YMCA presentation would be delayed while city and YMCA leaders work on additional coordination and operational details.
"Rather than present preliminary information, both teams are continuing to work collaboratively ... so that council can have a more meaningful discussion at the appropriate time," said Mr. Zook, the staff representative. Mayor Jason Robertson said he was "very encouraged by all the hard work" and noted the city wants to give the public an opportunity to weigh in when a complete proposal is ready.
Staff estimated an internal coordination period of roughly 4–6 weeks before returning to council with a more developed framework. No votes or commitments were taken at the meeting; council members and the mayor expressed interest in ensuring adequate public engagement when the item is rescheduled.
