Board honors staff of the month and recognizes National Merit commended student

Mason Consolidated Schools recognized Shawna Lucarelli and Todd Hodge as staff members of the month and honored senior Zhuoran Cai as a 2026 National Merit Commended Student and recipient of a $1,000 BCSN Spotlight Scholar award.
The board recognized staff members of the month sponsored by Leski Wittman Insurance Agency: Shawna Lucarelli, a high school mathematics teacher, was honored as the district’s September Staff Member of the Month; Todd Hodge, a CTE construction trades teacher, was honored as October Staff Member of the Month.
Senior student Zhuoran Cai was recognized as a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program and was presented with a Letter of Commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The minutes also note that Cai received a BCSN Spotlight Scholar $1,000 scholarship and will be featured on BCSN as Spotlight #3 airing Dec. 14 through Jan. 4.
