During discussion, audience member John Starr said KAHA has seen a decrease in the number of in-county teams and plans to expand tournaments, open ice time and pursue outside teams to improve utilization. Charles Williams told the board, "Kaliseum has not lost a dime." Chair Kohn Fisher presided over the vote.
Supporters framed the contract as a revenue-maintenance and marketing step. Commissioners noted concerns about reduced fees in the contract and emphasized the need for stronger marketing and event recruitment to bring outside teams to the facility.
