Mountrail County approves $966,700 net purchase for three motor graders and awards major road contracts

Road & Bridge Engineer Jana Hennessy presented multiple procurement and project items to the Board during the 9:40 A.M. appointment. Commissioners approved purchasing three 2025 motor graders from RDO with attachments at a net county purchase price of $966,700 (list price $1,350,300; total trade value $383,600) and guaranteed buy-back values used to determine the low bid.
The Board also approved Notices of Award and related agreements for major construction: Central Specialties, Inc. was awarded the Structure Replacement Bridge Project No. 31-104-09.0 for $450,359.05 and Project No. 01(62)23 (reconstruction of 10.2 gravel miles from CR10 to US Hwy 2) for $11,168,052. The Board approved a construction engineering agreement with Sauber Engineering not to exceed $1,100,000 and authorized a Notice to Proceed with Martin Construction for CR11 reconstruction. Separately, the county awarded the 2025 Chip Seal Project to Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation for $2,319,008.93 covering 43.6 miles.
