Moore Engineering’s Nathan Trosen presented cost-share estimates for Bridge Nos. 223, 292 and 304 on Murray Drain No. 17 and noted that Moore is continuing to work with Traill County to finalize costs. The board discussed options for the county commission’s share of the work: under the parties’ 2025 joint powers agreement, the WRD may include the commission’s share in a WRD bond issuance, or the commission may opt to pay in a single lump-sum payment.
Manager Jason Lovas will attend the County Commission meeting on Feb. 3 to review the improvements project and address any cost-share questions. The board asked staff and Moore to continue refining figures so the commission and WRD can decide whether to consolidate the county’s share into the WRD bond or to fund it separately.
