City to participate in statewide emergency alert test April 2; local siren test April 1

City staff announced that the Texas Division of Emergency Management scheduled a statewide emergency alert system test for April 2, 2026. The city will participate using HyperReach to send phone calls, texts and emails beginning at 10:00 a.m.; residents were warned they may receive multiple messages from multiple agencies during the test window (10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).
Separately, Highland Village will run its normal outdoor warning siren test on Wednesday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. Officials emphasized this is a preparedness exercise and "no emergency action is required" for residents during the test window; the city will notify residents via email newsletter, website news flash and social media.
