On Dec. 15 the Henry County Commission approved Resolution 5-12-25 to accept a purchase offer for an approximately 2.5-acre portion of Tax Map 094, Parcel 057.00 located west of State Highway 218 Bypass. Commissioner Monte Starks moved approval and Commissioner Marty Visser seconded; the motion passed in a recorded vote with the clerk entering the motion and result.
Exhibit A to the resolution is the buyers’ offer from Gavin Gensmer and Sharon K. Gensmer proposing a $5,000 purchase price payable into escrow with Greer, Greer & Whitfield, Attorneys, PLLC within three days of acceptance. The offer requires the buyer to obtain and pay for a survey, accepts conveyance by quitclaim deed with no warranty of title, and requires the buyer to pay all closing costs (including deed preparation and recording fees). The buyers signed the offer dated Dec. 12, 2025. The county resolution authorizes the County Mayor to execute the deed and related instruments to effect the transfer.
