Henry County Commission approves removal of Dickson Lane from county road list
Summary

The commission approved Resolution 8-10-25 on Oct. 20, directing the county to remove Dickson Lane from the county-maintained road list. The Road Board had met on Aug. 11 and recommended removal after landowners along the road—Madelon and Scott Dickson and others— petitioned to abandon county maintenance and move the gate further in.
Exhibit B and Road Board minutes are in the record and include notarized signatures and explicit waivers under Title 54, Chapter 10 of the Tennessee Code by the property owners consenting to abandonment. The petitioners acknowledged the county would stop maintenance and that ownership of the underlying land might or might not revert to them; they also agreed to indemnify the county for liabilities related to closure. The resolution passed on a voice vote following a motion by Commissioner Monte Starks and a second from Commissioner Charles Elizondo.
