Roscommon County authorizes treasurer to amend lake level assessment rolls

The Roscommon County Board of Commissioners on March 11, 2026, adopted Resolution No. 2026-03-01, authorizing the Roscommon County Treasurer to amend the confirmed lake level special assessment rolls for Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake and Lake St. Helen to correct clerical errors, omissions and changes in parcel divisions. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with Commissioners Kim Morley, Rex Wolfsen and Marc J. Milburn voting aye.
Resolution No. 2026-03-01 states that the Treasurer may make the necessary corrections "to ensure the accuracy of the assessment records" and that the proposed changes "do not increase the total assessment district cost and meet the requirements for administrative adjustments." The resolution directs the Treasurer to notify affected property owners as required by law and to include adjusted assessments on the tax roll for the ensuing year. The board left in place all other aspects of the confirmed rolls "as confirmed by the Roscommon County Board of Commissioners."
