County adopts on-call snow-removal policy for Road Department tied to weather triggers

Human Resource Manager Jenica Stander explained that the change does not alter the existing on-call pool but modifies the operational policy so that the county will activate the on-call protocol when the National Weather Service declares a weather event for the county; activation will apply during the event hours. Commissioner Lee Perry moved to adopt the revised Road Department On-Call Snow Removal Policy; Commissioner Boyd Bingham seconded and the motion carried unanimously on roll-call vote.
The meeting record included a separate personnel listing of on-call assignments effective Jan. 28, 2026. The county will follow standard payroll and operational procedures for compensating and scheduling on-call employees.
