Charles City County EDA elects officers for 2026 terms

The Charles City County Economic Development Authority conducted officer nominations and elections at its Feb. 5 meeting. After nominations were opened, Adriane Hicks nominated Arnold Brown for Chair; a roll call vote elected Brown. Travis Johnston nominated Adriane Hicks for Vice Chair; the Board elected Hicks by roll call vote.
Nominations for the combined Treasurer/Secretary produced multiple candidates. Dr. Brandy Rollins nominated Gregory Cotman after declining nomination herself; Travis Johnston also nominated himself. Cynthia Boone conducted a roll call where members’ votes were recorded by candidate: two votes were cast for Travis Johnston and four for Gregory Cotman. By majority vote, Gregory Cotman was elected Treasurer/Secretary to serve through Dec. 31, 2026. Cynthia Boone confirmed the slate of officers and the Board proceeded to the next agenda item.
