Maria Turner, community development director, explained that the currently offered draft corrects several typographical errors and does not reintroduce a 10‑year permit expiration: “The recommendation to remove the 10 year term limit came from the task force.” Turner told the board staff would continue annual site monitoring visits and retain revocation authority even if the expiration was removed. Supervisor Sabatier offered the ordinance as amended to correct typographical items and remove an inadvertent $5,000 surety-bond reference.
The clerk recorded the roll-call vote with three ayes and two nos, and the motion carried. The board did not incorporate a reintroduced 10‑year expiration in the ordinance as offered; several supervisors requested follow-up briefings on inspection and enforcement processes. The board also noted staff will fact-check comparative permit terms in other jurisdictions and continue work on code changes to allow immediate fines for certain violations.
