City manager gives community updates: Power Road closure, National Night Out, new programs

John outlined community programs and services: National Night Out will be Aug. 5 at Wayne High School (6–8 p.m.), a new eight‑week gardening class meets Tuesday evenings at the senior center, youth sports leagues (baseball, soccer, girls‑only flag football) will begin around April 11 at Cottonwood Park and registration is on the Parks and Rec site, and the city offers tax assistance appointments during business hours with a QR code and online resources to help residents file. Councilors asked how the new fingerprinting service would be publicized and staff said they will include it in the newsletter and on social media.
