Council reviews sidewalk, curb and concrete bids; Coburn's lowest bidder

Staff recommended awards for the 2026 sidewalk and concrete program and the council agreed to advance the items to the Monday meeting. Section B covers concrete leveling — a small portion — and is expected to be handled with a purchase order at about $2,125. Section C, curb replacement tied to the paving program, drew three bidders and Coburn's was the low bid at $759,402 with a recommended not‑to‑exceed amount of $836,000. Funding for the sidewalk program is from the capital fund; the concrete portion is financed through street capital, storm, and gas tax funds. Councilor Brett asked for clarification about the $120,120 versus the $133,000 not‑to‑exceed figure and staff confirmed the distinction between the base bid and the contract ceiling.
