The commission’s Juneteenth working group reported confirmed contracts for sound and several performers, a draft schedule starting at about 4:00 p.m., and ongoing vendor and sponsorship outreach. A working-group member said organizers have secured $1,000 sponsorships from CareSource and Enterprise and are continuing calls to potential sponsors through the end of March.
"We are good to go with Rick Kitchen for sound," a committee member said while outlining the event schedule and vendor outreach. Commissioners discussed a discrepancy in the recreation desk vendor registration page—mobile shows active vendor registration while the desktop view appeared to say 'no online registration'—and staff (Jeffrey) agreed to verify the correct link and forward it to the commission.
The group reported an initial confirmed vendor pool including several food trucks and retail vendors (speakers referenced roughly 8–10 confirmed vendors and a target of about 20 retail vendors), with a plan to prioritize vendors from prior events before opening a broader registration. The committee also plans giveaways, stage fans, sponsorship‑branded shirts, an educational flyer and a short promotional video.
