Administrative Coordinator Cassie Hanan provided several operational updates on Nov. 12. She said the Land Conservation & Education Committee will appoint citizen members to the Flood Mitigation Alliance and that the first meeting is scheduled for Nov. 21. She also noted a planning commission workshop on the county’s Comprehensive Plan is planned for Nov. 22 and encouraged participation in a Branding & Housing survey that was circulated to the public.
Hanan reported that she and the HR director attended an employment-law seminar covering AI policies, contracted employees and new overtime regulations. She said staff assisted with the November municipal elections in the Town of Bergen and described recent resident and tenant meetings at Vernon Manor and Vernon Acres related to BSJ onboarding; she added the county "will conduct a de-escalation training next week with department heads." Supervisors also heard committee updates, including that the Save Our Dams Committee now has 33 members and that membership in the Valley Stewardship Network could unlock additional grant funds for conservation practices.
