The Zoning Board approved variances to subdivide 18 Belle Isle Avenue and construct a two‑family dwelling on the newly created lot. Applicant Akhlo Aglimane announced a formal recusal from board deliberation before presenting his project.
Engineering Alliance’s Rick Salvo told the board the 9,379‑square‑foot lot fronts on three streets and that splitting it would create two lots consistent with neighboring configurations; the proposed up‑and‑down two‑family would include two garage spaces per unit for a total of four off‑street parking spaces. Ward 1 Councilor Jim Mercurio said he had met with neighbors and they supported the plan. The board voted unanimously to grant the variance subject to the usual recording and lapse conditions.
