Board member reports progress on Pemi Path fundraising; Beech Street drainage stalled pending right-of-way

During Board Member Comments, Mr. Shaun Lagueux reported Select Board activity related to the Pemi Path: an agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers is close to final signatures and the Pemi Path Committee plans to set up a private nonprofit to handle fundraising, grants and donations. He said he has found strong support from snowmobile clubs and contractors for trail work and maintenance and anticipates coming in under budget, noting the possibility that a full environmental assessment might not be required because the location is in a previously disturbed area (but he emphasized this is not official).
Mr. Lagueux also said the Beech Street drainage project is on hold because the Town must acquire a deeded right of way; he reported emailing the Dam Bureau about potentially obtaining properties along the Newfound River and that he attended a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting and shared information from cases he observed.
