The Henry County Commission approved Resolution 9-11-25 authorizing the sale of a delinquent-tax parcel the county acquired after no bidders at the tax sale. The parcel (Map 0950 J 023.01, Boyce Street) has a county market appraisal listed at $7,200 and taxes/fees shown in the packet at $1,967.45; the county received a quitclaim offer of $500 plus newspaper/publication and closing costs for the parcel.
Resolution 9-11-25 declares that the parcel cannot reasonably be sold for the full amount of taxes, penalties and costs and instructs the County Mayor to accept the reduced offer subject to required legal publication and a minimum overbid opportunity. Commissioner Patrick Burns moved the action and Commissioner Paul Neal seconded; roll call recorded the motion as carried.
