Mountrail County Commissioners on Dec. 30, 2024, unanimously approved three budget transfers during a special session called to order by Chairman Trudy Ruland at 8:30 A.M.
Commissioner Joan Hollekim moved "to approve the transfer from the American Rescue Plan Act Fund Miscellaneous Expense to the General Fund County Auditor salary totaling $263.25," a motion seconded by Commissioner Jason Rice and carried on a roll-call vote of Rice, Olson, Ruland, DeGroot and Hollekim. The board recorded the transfer from ARPA for the county auditor salary as a formal, approved reallocation.
In the meeting's principal transfer, Commissioner John DeGroot moved and Commissioner Wayne Olson seconded "to approve the transfer from the General Fund Rural Fire & Ambulance Assistance Department Equipment to the General Capital Equipment totaling $663,344.50." The five commissioners voted yes and the motion carried, moving funds into general capital equipment intended for rural fire and ambulance-related purchasing or capital needs.
Commissioner Jason Rice then moved, and Commissioner Joan Hollekim seconded, "to approve the transfer from the General Fund County Buildings Capital Outlay to Capital Projects Courthouse Shop Fund totaling $209,956.61 for the Courthouse Shop." That motion also passed unanimously by roll-call.
The transfers were recorded in the official minutes; the board carried each motion by unanimous recorded vote. The special session adjourned at 8:39 A.M., and the minutes were accepted and approved on Jan. 7, 2025.
