Commissioners approve $1.05 million in mill‑levy relief transfers

The Mountrail County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 4 to transfer $1,054,341 from the General Fund to five county programs to provide mill‑levy relief. The transfer allocates $68,960 to Veterans Service; $180,162 to County Agent; $553,283 to Weed Control; $39,125 to the County Library; and $212,811 to Airports. The motion was moved by Commissioner John DeGroot and seconded by Commissioner Wayne Olson and carried unanimously.
Commissioners discussed the transfers as routine budget adjustments for 2024 carryovers and mill‑levy distribution. No dissenting votes were recorded. The board approved 2024 budget amendments in the same meeting. The transfers will be processed through the Auditor’s Office and reflected in the county’s 2025 budget reports.
