The Planning Commission administered the oath of office to new members at the start of the session and asked the new members to sign paperwork for the meeting record. The Clerk (S4) led the oath, asking the new members to "faithfully execute the duties of the office of planning commission, City of Lake Jackson, and the state of Texas."
The commission then moved to reorganize its leadership. Chair (S1) called for nominations and S5 volunteered to serve as secretary despite noting limited recent experience taking minutes. "I've been vice president, but I'll be secretary," S5 said; the Chair confirmed S5 in the role. Commissioners conducted the reorganization and approved minutes for the prior meeting before moving to agenda items.
