Resident cites 10-year study, urges protections for voters and election integrity

Monique LaCroix, a Chaska resident, told the board she submitted a study she described as an exhaustive 10-year academic review that identified three instances of noncitizen voting out of more than 13,000,000 ballots in Minnesota. "Out of more than 13,000,000 ballots cast, it identified exactly 3 instances where a noncitizen voted," she said, adding that such findings amount to a "needle in a haystack."
LaCroix urged the county to focus on verifiable data and to take practical steps to keep polling sites "welcoming and safe by maintaining adequate staffing, visible nonpartisan signage, and well trained poll workers." She also asked the county to track and report demographic turnout and incident data while protecting voter privacy. The board did not take formal action during public comment; staff or elections officials were identified as the appropriate contacts for follow-up.
