Carver County staff announced that the newly opened Carver County Family Resource Center will host a family program on Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at Mulvarian Church, 115 East 4th Street in Chaska, aimed at children ages 4–12 and their caregivers. The session will include family-centered activities and a parent education component alongside an engaging children’s program.
County staff also said the center will hold a Back-to-School health and wellness event on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 4:30 to 6 p.m., sponsored by Medica and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, offering school supplies, vaccine sign-ups, health-insurance assistance and mental-health resources. "Attendees can pick up essential school supplies, sign up for vaccines, receive health insurance assistance, and find support for mental health and wellness," the committee member said during announcements.
The county indicated staff from Carver County Health and Human Services and community partners will be on-site to provide resources. The announcements were delivered during the board’s regular meeting before the start of scheduled budget hearings.
