Commission advances town plan editing; aims for July hearing and September adoption

Members of the Tinmouth Planning Commission spent a large portion of the May 15 meeting reviewing the town plan update, discussing housing counts, zoning permit data, maps and photos to illustrate local character.
Member 3 reported having reviewed zoning permits from the past 10 years to support housing and subdivision sections and said they will send current draft material to Jeremy for input. The commission asked Chair to contact the local school for updated education numbers: "I need to email the principal," Chair said, and members agreed updated counts are needed for the housing section.
On maps and formatting, Member 3 recommended keeping the town’s existing maps rather than replacing them with the regional-plan map, and said the timeline should produce a review copy at the June meeting so the commission could hold a hearing in July and then pass the plan to the select board for a September adoption. Members also agreed on a set of photos — water wheel, dandelions, Frog Rock and selected historic images — and assigned volunteers to collect JPEGs for Jennifer Treppel, who will handle formatting.
Next steps: members will collect and forward photos; Chair will seek updated education numbers from the school; the commission aims to have a review-ready plan at the June meeting and to schedule a July hearing.
