"So, officially, Fun Day is July 12," the chair announced. Sherry volunteered to provide ice cream and cones and said she would help with parade coordination; the committee identified the need for two people downtown to direct traffic and one person at the transfer station to marshal parade participants.
Committee members discussed ordering pop-up shades, placing the ice-cream stand on the shaded side of the road, and shifting the softball game to before dinner to encourage participation. The recreation committee agreed to develop activities, and members agreed to schedule a final planning meeting in late June to confirm roles and produce publicity to recruit volunteers.
