Chair (Speaker 4) told the board that Jeremy at the regional commission requested a letter of intent; the commission offered $4,000 toward the work while the project is estimated to cost about $5,100, leaving a local match of approximately $1,100–$1,200. "They sent back approval of a grant of $4,000. It's gonna cost $5,100. So we have a grant that you can approve, accept, and approve," the Chair said.
A board member moved to accept the letter of intent to participate in the 'better roads' category (road erosion inventory) and then moved to accept the grant in aid; motions were seconded and the board voted in favor. Members clarified that grant funds are reimbursable after the job is completed and that local match may be met through in-kind work (vehicles, culverts, stone, equipment hours) as allowed by the grant program. The board authorized Kevin to sign necessary documents related to the application and grant acceptance during the meeting.
