The Floyd County Board of Health on Jan. 5 approved the Public Health FY2027 budget after a line-item adjustment for IT costs. Gail Arjes, Floyd County Public Health/Home Health Care, said "the IT expense of $30,000 being taken off expenditures" because Public Health services are now covered under the county's overall IT licensing and fee structure. Joanne Robinson moved to approve the budget as presented; Denise Pavlovich seconded and the motion was recorded as carried 3-0.
Board members noted wages in the public health budget were set to increase 2% at the request of the Board of Supervisors and that no other wage changes would be made unless instructed by the Board of Supervisors. The approval followed a line-by-line review of revenue and expenditures for FY2027. The Board also recorded that November payments had posted in early December and were not reflected in the year-to-date report reviewed earlier in the meeting.
